Malting barley is a kind of malting barley, which contains many impurities with the same cross section but different length as malting barley. These impurities will affect the quality and quality of malt.
The quality of malt juice and beer was improved. Generally, it is selected before soaking. The quality requirements of selected barley are as follows.
① The impurity content of barley is less than 0.2%.
② Barley surface is clean without dust.
③ The grading uniformity of barley is more than 90%.
here are several test methods.
① Sampling. Three kinds of barley with abdominal diameter of 2.2 mm, 2.5 mm and 2.8 mm were selected and 500 g of them were tested.
② Weigh, calculate. After checking the cleanliness, pick out the residual impurities (sand, iron filings, half grain wheat, miscellaneous grain, wheat husk) and weigh them to calculate the proportion of inclusions.
③ Check the uniformity. The proportion of the three samples was calculated after sieving with Volterra sieve. It is required that the barley with more than 2.5mm abdominal diameter and less than 2.2mm abdominal diameter should not exceed 10% in 2.2mm and 2.5mm grade samples, which means good uniformity.
