How many pumps will the brewhouse need and pumps function?
For different brewhouse configuration, the needed pumps quantities may different. With different quantities pumps, the plumbing layout is different. But they still can carry out the brewing process. For example in the condition of two transferring process, they may share same pumps. But some brewmasters think they may influence each other and take much brewing time. Then the best way is for each brewing process can share one pump and will not influence each other.
For 3 three vessel MT+LT+KWT(mash tank+lauter tank+kettle&whirlpool tank) with hot liquor tank, then how many pumps do you think will we need?
We think 3 pumps is OK. One mash pump, one wort pump, one hot water pump. The plumbing runs as follows:
HLT---> Centrifugal pump (pump 1)---> MT( hot water used for mashing water)
MT---> Centrifugal pump (pump 2)---> LT
LT--->Centrifugal pump (pump 3)---> LT recirculation for clarifing the wort
LT--->Centrifugal pump (Pump 3)--->KWT + HLT---> Centrifugal (pump 1)---> LT (sparging stage)
KWT center drain--->Centrifugal pump (Pump 3)--->KWT tangental port
KWT side drain--->Centrifugla pump (Pump 3)--->HEX--->Fermenter
Your comments would be greatly important for us.
