When pressure inside the fermenter is up to the working pressure, the safety valve will relief the valve. Usually, the working pressure is fixed to 2bar or 3bar. Sometime, many customer wants to adjust the working pressure. So, this will involve in three valves. Let’s compare this three safety valve together.
Picture1 is common relief valve. It is our standard configuration for fermenter and bbt.It can’t be adjusted the pressure. And it has a fixed maximum pressure number(Normally it is 2bar or 3bar). Its biggest pressure is that it could relief not only positive pressure, but also negative pressure. So, it is the very necessary for tank.
Picture2 is bung valve. Its pressure is adjustable. Advantage:
1. It has marked scale on the valve, so you could know the pressure you set.
2. The pressure of relief valve could be observed. In its using process, the white tray around the valve will be full of water. when it begins release pressure, we could water the bubble will occur. So,you could have a clear knowledge when the pressure is released.
Disadvantage:
It will doesn’t work for negative pressure.
The common relief valve(picture1) and bung valve(picture2) is a popular combination way for customer who wants to adjust the pressure.
Picture3 is another adjustable pressure relief valve. Its pressure also can be adjusted. Advantage: It can release the positive pressure and the negative pressure.
Disadvantage:
1. it doesn’t have clear scale on the valve.
2.The reliving pressure process can’t be observed like the bung valve .:-)
In theory, this valve can replace the common relief valve. But for a more safe goal, the common pressure relief valve is necessary also.
Hope my words could give you a more knowledge for valve which could adjust the pressure for fermenter.
