We all know that rotating is the must needed process for separating the solid and liquid. But does the rotating direction influence the Isolation effect? If yes, which one is better, clockwise or anticlockwise?
Here we conducted an experiment: we filled up the sink with water, and opened the discharging port on the bottom of the sink after the water calmed. As the water level became lower and lower, there will be counter-clockwise vortex above the discharging port. It shows that when the water level became lower, a low pressure area will be formed around the discharging port. Because of the affection of the earth rotates from west to east, the water flow will form a counter-clockwise vortex around the center of low pressure area. Now the water with centripetal acceleration, it maintained by the water flow pressure which point to the low pressure center, so there will be a continuous vortex.
Thus, the wort rotating direction truly will influence the solid liquid separation effect. If you are located in the Northern Hemisphere, the direction should be anticlockwise, if you are in Southern Hemisphere, the clockwise direction will be the best choice.
