Will the brewery work well at high altitude and pressure?
Some customers establish their brewery factory at highland which is 3000-5000 meters over the sea level; this situation is very common in South America or Asia. If steam producer and other equipment will work well at this altitude and pressure?
Generally, the only part which needs to be designed specially is kettle boiler.
In the high sea level,
Altitude 0 meters, boiling point is 100 degree C;
Altitude 2000 meters, boiling point is 93 degree C;
Altitude 3000 meters, boiling point is 91 degree C;
Altitude 5000 meters, boiling point is 83 degree C;
Altitude 8848 meters, boiling point is 72 degree C;
Which means the boiling point will drop 1 degree C if the altitude increase 300 meters.
In this condition, the brewery system needs pressure boiling. So we have some improvements in beer system.
First is updating manway in kettle tun. We change ordinary pressure manway into pressure-bearing manway.
Second is adding butterfly valve on the steam condenser to make sure leakproofness.
Third is adding vacuum relief valve on dished top of kettle tun.
These 3 improvements can make sure beer system work well.
