During the usage of beer conical fermentation tank, we should pay attention to the safety of the conical fermentation tank, to prevent damage on tank body caused by over-pressure and vacuum.
Many breweries are accustomed to cleaning stainless steel fermenter by hot water, or do sterilization by steam, it is actually very dangerous. Under normal pressure, 1 cubic meter of steam weighs 560g, but 1 cubic meter of water weighs 1 ton. If the steam is condensed, the steam will shrink to 1/1786 of the original volume, which will cause negative pressure, it seriously threatens the safety of the conical beer fermenter. In addition, the discharging speed of the fermentation tank is too fast and the air intake is insufficient; when the fermentation tank is washed with caustic liquid, the carbon dioxide in the tank is absorbed by the alkaline solution and the volume shrinks; cleaning the fermentation tanks after washed with hot caustic liquid etc etc, all of these conditions may would cause vacuum inside the tank. For this reason, the cleaning liquid we suggest better not exceed 40℃.
Absolutely, it is necessary to set up positive and negative pressure safety valves according to the requirements of working pressure.
