Dry crush is a traditional method. Simple device and easy operate. The method is widely used in the sized breweries.
The malt has been choiced transport into screening machine by delievery equipment and crushed. We can adjust the valve and roller space according to the crush ability and level. Malt flour storage in the warehouse after crushed.
Part 1: Process and technical points: The malt should remove something dirt before working and weighting the saccharification feeding of each pot. First remove the dust, it is better to use stone machine and also can use to dust machine. Even though the malt has been cleaned is the malt factory, there still have some stone in the malt and shape like the malt size. If the stone goes into the crush machine, it will spoil the roller and reduce the service life.
The next step is to remove the iron by magnetic. The magnetic usually install at a place before the roller. Even in the process of malting install intermediate separator, there still have some iron like nails and screws go into the malt. Once go into the roller, not only spoil the roller, but also will produce spark and result in dust explosion.
When the dust reach a certain level in the roller, it will turn out explosion and bring about big loss. So do everything possiable to avoid dust explosion. Remove the iron and put an end to producing spark.
There will produce much dust when crushing, it can produce 0.4-1.4KG dust of per 100KG malt. We must removing the dust. Small brewery remove the dust by bag. Bigger brewery will collect the dust into dust bin. It can be sold with spent grain.
Part 2: Weight measurement It must correct recording the saccharification feeding of each pot. And evaluate by two indicators:
The yield of brewhouse
Calculate the used malt ofr brewing 1000L beer.
